It seems like every morning, when I turn to the Word and to my devotionals, I hear God speak right to my situation. This doesn't always happen and I've gone through long stretches of hearing God's silence, but right now it's been amazing to hear God's gentle voice speak to my daily needs.
For example, when I was trying to balance busyness with ministry and my quiet moments spent just with the Lord, I read (in Oswald Chambers' Utmost for His Highest):
When I was feeling anxious or a little stressed about getting the details together, I opened my devotional to read:
On July 9th, I wondered why the verse was Joshua 24:19 "You cannot serve the Lord." That sounded odd to me. I WAS serving the Lord, what in the world did Chambers mean?
"'Ye cannot serve the Lord God'; but you can put yourself in the place where God's almighty power will come through you."
Ooooh. Since I'm going to be teaching about Jesus' miraculous power, I needed some of it myself! (Doesn't it just give you a chill down your spine when God speaks like that?)
When I was feeling a little insecure, I began my prayer time with the 31 Days of Praise by Ruth Meyers and the topic for the day was:
"I praise you for the honor of being made in Your image, personally formed by you for Your glory, and gifted spiritually just as it has pleased You....All that I am and all that I have comes from You."
Then, the next day was about my weaknesses:
"That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Corinthians 12:10
Thankful for my weakness and His strength this week!

"Discipleship means personal, passionate devotion to a Person, our Lord Jesus Christ. There is a difference between devotion to a Person and devotion to principles or to a cause."
When I was feeling anxious or a little stressed about getting the details together, I opened my devotional to read:
Psalm 37: 8
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret—it leads only to evil.

I am so thankful for those same things too. I seem to be going through a quiet time right now... thanks for the reminder He still is there waiting to speak... I might just need to slow down long enough to hear Him. I love it when He speaks right to you and your situation. Wendy Pope said at She Speaks that God has his own love language for each of us.
Thanks for sharing about the ways God is working in your heart.

Isn't it wonderful to have a love-letter waiting for us to open daily?
I really enjoyed these awesome nuggets of truth, thanks for sharing them with us today♥
What a good reminder.
