Thankful for This Season

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: … a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted…”
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

This verse fits my life perfectly right now. The past several weeks have been a time of change; a transition from one season to another. I've gone from being a stay-at-home mom with little tots under foot and women's Bible studies in my home to a very different pace of life.

**Lord, thank you for this new season in my life. I'm so thankful that I had the past four years to be completely focused on my children, but I'm also grateful for the new adventures I'm facing right now.

**I'm thankful to be back in the "classroom" (virtual) as a high school math teacher with Insight schools. I love working with kids again and being able to help them succeed. It is an exhilarating feeling to potentially impact so many lives. Just talking with students on the phone I've sensed how vital my role is.

**I'm thankful for my coworkers and my principal, who team together with me as we face technological challenges and come alongside me as I navigate my way through uncharted waters.

**I'm thankful for the nip in the air, for the crisp feeling of fall on its way, for bike rides (on brand new red training wheel bikes), for tree forts (and little monkeys in them), for long walks in the warming sun.

**Thank You Lord for my lifelong lover - for a partner to encourage me along the way, a listening ear when I'm stressed and a helping hand in this life. I'm also thankful that we can minister together this year through our Sunday school class and small group. There's something very unifying about sharing Bible study time together instead of him doing men's ministry and me doing women's ministry. I'm excited to do this together again.

**Thank You Father for first days of school. Little Missy ran right onto the playground for her first day at Kindergarten following her sister with a big smile. Thank you for this new season in her life and thank You that I can have confidence that You are watching over her when I can't. She is so excited and I'm sure she'll do fine (don't ask me about the tears running down my face though, ok?)

**I'm thankful for the little man's first day at preschool too! He colored a "very colorful" backpack and had a great time with this new experience. I'm excited about their Bible based curriculum and the great teachers he'll have there.

**I'm thankful for my bloggy friends and for this past year of blogging, meeting so many like-minded women from across the nation (and the globe). I haven't had time to do much blogging lately and I know that will be the case for this season. I'll still be posting for the Internet Cafe and Laced with Grace and I'll still be around, but not as frequently. I'm on the computer so much for work already that I have to have some limits in order to still make family a priority. Thank you for understanding!

**I'm thankful for Iris, who reminds us each week to be refreshed by gratitude and rejuvenated with a thankful heart!
