YES WE CAN!!!
Ok, maybe I can't really fix anything around my house that requires hammers, screwdrivers and the like, but I CAN do some home renovation projects to our spiritual atmosphere. Me plus the power drill makes a dangerous combination, but I think God and I are a great combo!
We are building character. We are building the next generation. We are building upon the Rock and trusting Him to finish what He's begun. Hopefully, we're building things that will withstand the test of time and will not burn at the judgement.
I remember remodeling the bathroom with my husband: the biggest "building" project I've ever undertaken. It took pre-measuring, planning and vision to get started and then we had to pay attention to the details and learn as we went. The whole process took time, effort and investment.
Building little minds and souls also takes time and effort. We do some planning ahead and some visionary thinking, but we also learn as we go. Thank goodness we have a manual with lots of direction for when we get stuck. There are bound to be frustrating moments (like when the pipes don't line up or the linoleum is too long) but each time we face a challenge, we learn and continue to build.
When whining or arguing becomes more prevalent than kindness and respect, it's time to do some "remodeling." We need to go back to the blueprints and figure out where we've gone wrong.
Building isn't always easy, but the rewards are awesome. When you finish a project and see your work, it's so exciting. One day we will see the rewards for our home building efforts too. The voice of our Savior calling out, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

“We as women, think of ourselves as mothers, teachers, nurses and son on, but God says that we are builders. We usually relegate this role to the men, but we are building with something far great than brick and timber.” Nancy Campbell, The Power of Motherhood: What the Bible Says about Mothers.

I'm so glad that as Psalm 127, "Unless the Lord builds the house the laborers labor in vain..." Cause I know He's the one doing the building through me. Apart from Him I can do nothing. His grace is sufficient for the building He's called me to do!
Great post!

The theme of my blog. When the Lord tells us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, it is "remodeling" our thought system (or that of our children) The most rewarding calling from heaven!
Not only do we hear in heaven "well done" but we enjoy the fruits of our labor here on earth when we see our children walking in the truth and being kingdom-BUILDERS! to the Praise of His Glory!
Great!
