Thankful for Prayer

Over and over again, we hear Paul mention his gratitude for the prayers of others. He believed in the power of prayer and he was thankful for his prayer supporters.

I recently sent out a prayer request for my week at Write to Publish. I was overwhelmed with the response. Every one of the fourteen people I emailed sent back a prayer for me. Thank you ladies from Laced with Grace! I felt your prayer support surrounding me and lifting me up.

God directed me to just the right editors as He was clarifying my vision. I felt lost at the beginning of the week, but He immediately reassured me that I was following Him on this journey. I couldn't have done it without your prayers. THANK YOU!

God works through our prayers and He hears our cries. Would you join me today in praying with Tracy for the people in her area who are dealing with heavy flooding?

So many times the Lord reminds me that if weren't for people praying for me I wouldn't be as encouraged in heart as I am. He also reminds me to pray for strangers who pass me on the road because people I don't know are praying for me.

I'm also thankful for prayer!

And this morning, watching the news about the flooding and tornadoes and fires...I'm praying for those people in those areas.

I just love your heart that comes through so beautifully here!

Prayer is the one thing that keeps me going. My prayers to God and those of the people in my life who love me.

Thank you for this post. Tracy is definitely in my prayers. Blessings.

You are right to point out how much Paul relied on prayer for his ministry, but also offered freely prayers for His brothers and sisters in Christ.
I am so thrilled to read that the conference was a great place for you. I am glad that we were able to pray for you - what a privilege.

Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us this week.

Be blessed today and always.

Isn't prayer support just the best feeling? I pray blessings upon your writing journey as you follow His lead.

Prayer: Does It Make Any Difference? by Phillip Yancey

Shannon, at Rocks in my Dryer , is hosting a huge giveaway! Isn't that exciting! I love to give something meaningful to my friends - as I shop, I always look for just the right item that fits our relationship and the individual's personality. So, if you stop by this little blog of mine, I think you might like this gift I've picked out. This fall, I have been nourished by the wisdom of Phillip Yancey in his recent book on prayer. Our Bible study has plumbed the depths of prayer with Yancey's help in this amazing book. My personal prayer life has been challenged and I have probed the deeper questions surrounding prayer with a beloved mentor. I would love for you to enjoy this book too. I'll be giving the book away to one blessed commenter. So, leave a comment here and I'll be drawing a name next week to give away this treasure box full of well-mined jewels from God's Word and life's experiences. Don't forget to leave a comment to be entered in the draw

Thankful Thursday

A few things that fill my heart with gratitude... *Bright explosions in the sky *Bug repellent *Calamine and band aids for when we forget about the bug repellent (and the polka dot girl I put to bed each night whose sensitive skin seems to attract the little suckers) *Days spent at the beach *Life jackets *Aloe, although it can't take away a lobster red sunburn, it does soothe *Photographs and memories *The public library. My family has been enjoying plenty of summer library programs. *Ok, I'm even thankful for cockroaches. The kids sure had fun playing with the huge ones the "Bug Guy" Brought in for the last program we attended. They even ate a few bugs. (I am NOT joking!) I, on the other hand, found it conveniently necessary to excuse myself to the restroom right around the time the roaches and tarantulas were being brought out. *I'm thankful for a new job...which will be starting soon (more on that later). *Green slime, explosions, goggles and lab coats...yes,

What works for you????

Ever since I heard about Works for me Wednesday, which Shannon hosts at Rocks in my Dryer , I've had a recurring thought. What works for me? Ummm, not much, some days. My dryer works, thank goodness. My kids - work? Not so much (I mean, really, they're kids). The dishwasher went kaput this summer and the heater died in late fall. We did not revive them, but thanks to loving parents, we replaced them with appliances that work. I think the most disturbing appliance that doesn't work around my house is ME. So, ladies, since today is backwards day, what works for you? How do you motivate yourself to keep a clean house when you know it will only last for mere minutes and no one will know or appreciate it anyway? I just need a little motivation to get this human machine working again. Would you give me some hints? How do you motivate yourself? What gives you that boost each day to get your housework done? Thanks for the help!
