Thankful for Spring!

It was only a few weeks ago that my family enjoyed an ice fishing outing. Actually, I think we enjoyed the trip onto the ice in the back of the truck, the candy and pop, and the silly antics of the children more than the fish! I caught something huge but it never made it through the hole. It was the last hurrah of winter.

Soon after our ice fishing expedition, we bid farewell to our winter lawn ornaments. Sweet Billy Bob snowman and his wife Suzy Q disolved before our eyes on one warm day.

And suddenly, the world began to transform before my eyes. A long, cold, hard winter which kept me (and the kids) inside for six months gave way to a slow spring. Somehow these pussy willows survived the blizzard which flew in after the snowmen melted.
The tulips have poked their heads above the ground and soon they will share their joy with us.

Even though the weather forcast predicts more snow in the week, I'm reveling in the glory of sunshine and green. The kids have been climbing their favorite climbing tree, playing softball, chasing the geese through the corn field, creating chalk drawings, flying kites (well, at least, we tried), jumping rope, blowing bubbles, riding bikes and breathing fresh air.

Thank You Lord for FRESH AIR!

Loved coming by to read your TT post. It has been in the 80's this week, so I forget that there is still winter in other parts of the world.

The pussy willows are wonderful. It sounds like we live in the same neck of the woods. 1 1/2 weeks ago it was snowing and today my daughters were walking down the road barefoot, with their pants rolled up. The signs of Spring are wonderful, especially after a long winter.

I LOVE pussy willows! Mom would let me cut them and bring them inside for our table. I've always loved spring!

Wow! You're right, we were thinking alike today. I think those of us that live in the north appreciate spring all the more since we have been locked in doors for 6 months. I went out walking last week and kept taking deep breaths just to feel all that fresh air!!

It sounds like that you and your family are ready for spring and warmer weather :)

Even though we live in Arizona, I always enjoy spring. If you look close enough - there is a huge change in the plant life here, especially the trees :)

Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us.

Be blessed today and always.

I too am so ready for change. God keeps teasing us here in Nebraska & He just needs to release Spring down on us and quit with the cold dark gloomy days. ;)
