of housework, school, work, friendship, ministry ~ because we are finite."

from The Hidden Art of Homemaking by Edith Schaeffer~
1 a: having definite or definable limits
2: completely determinable in theory or in fact by counting, measurement, or thought
3 a: less than an arbitrary positive integer and greater than the negative of that integer b: having a finite number of elements
Can you tell I went to a poetry class last night? :) Now, poetry class is over and math is about to begin.
A finite set of numbers is measurable. The length of my legs and the bredth of my armspan is also measurable. Not infinite. Infinity stretches forever in all directions while my eyes cannot even see beyond the horizon.
Piles of things undone lay around my house. Piles can burden and weary, but I choose to set them down and rest instead.
Unfinished work of greater magnitude: the work in my heart. Gentleness, patience, self-control. Though I seek the completion of this great project, the Father says it will come - at the end of time.
He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6

Thanks God for Philippians 1:6, you know something, I almost used that scripture...

Great reminder to keep things in perspective. No matter how "perfect" we do a job there is still something left to do. This can be frustrating or we can keep the proper perspective: while we are cleaning our homes, we can allow God to work on our hearts: gentleness, patience, self-control...!
Thanks!
