Look Ma! No Teeth!

For a week a tooth has been noticeably loose – and my cutie bug has enjoyed wiggling it here and there, asking, “Can you promise me that it will come out today Mom?”

Saturday morning, tooth number two looked grey and ready to be evacuated from that mouth. So Dad got his tools ready and began to extract the tooth promptly. Floss tied around the tooth…slipped right off. Big Daddy fingers…slipped off. Some tissue wrapped around Daddy fingers…slipped off. Slippery little thing, that tooth. So, Daddy pulled out the big boys – the pliers. Little bug’s eyes got big but she did not flinch – she was as excited as Dad to see the tooth removed. Huge pliers…slipped off.

After a half an hour of effort, we gave up and decided that God would have to remove that tooth in His own time. At bedtime, Mom helped Cutie bug brush her teeth – maybe a few rigorous brushes would help break that stubborn tooth free. And lo and behold – a tooth popped out, but not tooth number two (the grey one). No, it was tooth number one. Which means, we’ll be looking at a big gaping hole in that smile pretty soon.

And no, I can’t promise it will be today!

A smile is like salve for the soul...(Proverbs 17:22)

Thank you Lord for showing me the pleasure of the little things.

What a fun story to read! We're having our own sort of tooth adventures in our house, too. It is blessing, isn't it!

Teeth, so cute how kids love to lose them.

My daughter(who's 10) had to have 4 teeth pulled at once. I was more nervous than her.

Thanks again for visiting my blog!!

Oh yes...trying to get those teeth out can be fun! I can see her wobbly tooth in there though!!! :) I'm sure it'll fall out any day now.

Yay my hands got clammy while I was reading about Daddy trying to pull out #2. I was really holding my breath. Although I generally don't dislike dentist appointments (me being the patient), I'm not really sure if I can handle it when I see dear son seated on that big chair one day. :D

It must have been a relief that a tooth , although not #2, finally broke free. Maybe in the next few hours, #2 will fall off too. I hope, so your little one will be relieved too.
